LONG TIME NO SEE!

So we all know how it goes. We all have high hopes in the summer of all of our big dreams for the school year. And then what happens? TEACHING gets in the way! I have not been able to post since AUGUST! I have been so busy. It has been such a wild adventure this year so far. My goal for 2017 is to post at least once a week.

To really catch you up I'll give you some big hits of the year so far.

1) We were team teaching and I was only teaching Math. WELL, one of my partners decided to leave us in September so we used up her 30 days notice to switch back to self-contained classrooms. This has been sort of a blessing. I LOVE my class and firmly believe I have the best 5th grade class. (sorry, not sorry shouldn't we all think that? hehe) The downfall is now teaching everything and keeping organized is really hard for me.

2) I'm a part of the Team Leadership committee as the 5th grade team lead. Being a part of that meant I got to be a part of Education Elements mini conferences we've had at the school. I have been beyond BLESSED to learn about Personalized Learning. I know it's nothing new but because our entire school is one-to-one IPADS it will work so well with our demographic. I have been focused on the flex model learning for my kids. I will write a new post on it shortly but I have literally only been doing it for a week and a half and my kids are responding so well! I have done a couple what do you think post-it exit slips with my kids and they have been very responsive!
Here is my general basis for Flex-Based Learning. This works for both Math and Reading.

There are some big things coming in the New Year for my school and my classroom and I cannot wait until my students soar!

Update

I promised to keep updating with pictures!! I'm so excited about the organization that is in my room. I've got really cool bins and containers that are labelled and I'm really proud of them! Also, our school is college bound so I spent a good portion of the morning creating my college's bulletin board. Unfortunately, the die cut and poster maker are still packed somewhere in the school so I created the Blue Devil overlaying felt. Again, SO PROUD! The bulletin boards in the pictures have since been filled in and I will post tomorrow!

For those of you who don't know, my family owns their own book company. The website if you wanna check it out is Crsports94.com. You can also find him on Facebook  at www.facebook.com/Crsports94 or an Amazon as Crsports94. ANYWAY.....I tend to find lots of his books worth reading. He has ALL KINDS of books. Seriously all kinds. I found this little number in his shipment from the other day. So excited to start reading it. If you've already read it, feel free to comment your opinion. If not, I will update on useful info!

WELCOME!
I had an awesome last couple of days hanging out at the Google Summit! They were really great about telling us to only find ONE thing from each day to really take away and run with for our classrooms. Easier said than done but one day 1 I found Screencastify! (More on another post). Today, day 2, I was introduced to Blogger. I know I know to any Techy this would've been obvious, BUT not to me. For my age (27) and my generation (millennial) I should be better at technology, BUT I'm not so this Summit was amazing!! I now have a blog!
Thanks for sticking with me!
